  • in Capacitive Proximity Sensors

SICK Inc. manufactures cylindrical thread design, rectangular housing, and food and beverage type capacitive proximity sensors. With sensing ranges of 1mm to 25mm, the sensors can detect paper, wood, granules, and liquids. Used in food industry, automobile, and storage and conveying applications, the sensors feature short circuit protection and an IP67 enclosure rating.

  • in Distance Measuring Sensors

SICK Inc. has a variety of distance sensors from short-, mid- and long-range for precision measuring; ultrasonic for non-contact measurement, linear measurement for absolute position using a mounted strip; and optical data transmission for wireless data transmission along a light beam. Ultrasonic sensors are immune to dust, dirt and fog, and have an operational sensing range up to 6000mm.  Long-range distance sensors, such as the DME3000 can measure ranges up to 500m when reflected. In addition, SICK also offers DMP position finders for millimeter-accurate positioning for the storage/conveyor industry.

  • in Fiber Optic Sensors

SICK, Inc. offers fiber-optic photoelectric sensors in a variety of configurations. Model WLL12 sensors feature metal housings; applications for harsh environments; and the ability to detect green, infrared, or red light sources. Model WLL180-T sensors have sensing ranges up to 20M, response times up to 16 μs, and high resolution signal processing capabilities for the detection of small/transparent objects.

  • in Inductive Proximity Sensors

SICK, Inc. offers the following inductive proximity sensors: mini, single/double/triple sensing, analog output, and cylindrical. IM single/double inductive proximity sensors have housing sizes ranging from M8 to M30, sensing ranges from 1.5 to 20mm, NPN/PNP switching outputs, and AC/DC versions.

  • in Light Beam, Grid & Screen Safety Sensors

SICK, Inc. offers safety laser scanners and multiple light beam safety devices. Safety laser scanners have scanning ranges from 1.5 to 7m, up to 270° in scanning angle, and 1-16 switchable field sets. These scanners have 0 to 2 incremental encoder connections, optional reflector mark detection, and ambient operating temperatures from -10 to 50°C. Multiple light beam safety devices come in IEC 61496 types 2-4, resolution beam numbers ranging from 1 to 9, scanning ranges from 0 to 70m, and active/passive system options.

  • in Magnetic Proximity Sensors

SICK Inc. designs magnetic proximity sensors that feature cylindrical thread design or rectangular housing - with sensing range up to 120mm. The cylindrical sensors are available with M08 to M18 housing. The company also offers magnetic proximity sensors for use in explosive atmospheres. These sensors feature a sensing range up to 70 mm. All the proximity sensors can provide detection of targets through walls, and can tolerate dirt, heat, and vibration.

  • in Magnetic Sensors

SICK manufactures magnetic proximity sensors and magnetic cylinder sensors. Proximity sensors are available in both cylindrical (MM) and square (MQ) configurations, with a maximum sensing range of 120 mm. Cylinder sensors are available in T-slot, C-slot, and other configurations.

  • in Photoelectric Sensors

SICK Inc. manufactures a number of industrial photoelectric sensor types including: miniature, small, compact, cylindrical, zone control roller conveyor, fiber optic, laser, hygienic, and AS-Interface. The company also develops photoelectric sensors for transparent objects and explosive environments, along with sensors that feature PinPoint technology.

  • in Position Sensors

SICK position sensors are used for millimeter-accurate positioning in the storage and conveyor industries. The DMP2 operates with reflectors and allows for positioning at a distance between 200 mm and 2,000 mm. The DMP3 operates with cameras and can position at distances between 200 mm and 350 mm.

  • in Proximity Sensors

SICK Inc. manufactures inductive proximity sensors, capacitive proximity sensors, and magnetic proximity sensors. The inductive sensors are ideal as a non-contact solution for detecting metal objects, and areavailable in cylindrical thread design, with rectangular housings, or with cylindrical sleeve design. The capacitive sensors feature sensing ranges from 8 mm to 25 mm, are are used for level and feed monitoring. SICK's magnetic proximity sensors come in cylindrical and square configurations, and feature maximum sensing ranges of 120 mm or 70 mm.

  • in Safety Sensors

SICK, Inc. manufactures transponder safety switches are used in applications where a high level of tamper-proofing is needed. Various versions exist that allow series connection of up to 20 safety switches. Both the T4000 Standard and Multi employ small sensors and actuators. The T4000 Direct uses unicode and multicode sensors.

  • in Ultrasonic Object Detection Sensors

SICK Inc.'s line of object detecting ultrasonic sensors can detect transparent targets or targets with non-uniform surfaces. The sensors are immune to dust, dirt, and fog, and feature sensing ranges up to 6000 mm, 250 mm, or 350 mm. The company also offers an ultrasonic double sheet sensors for detection of foils, metal sheets, and fine corrugated cardboards found in printing applications.
