  Lake Shore Cryotronics, Inc. offers platinum RTDs. Model PT-100 platinum resistance thermometers feature temperature ranges from -243 to 600°C, conformation to IEC 751 standards (down to 70K), and low magnetic field dependencies above 40K. These sensors offer nearly constant sensitivity, high repeatability, and cross-device uniformity. They are constructed from platinum, alumina, glass, and nickel materials.

  LakeShore makes cryogenic resistance temperature detectors, including positive and negative temperature coefficient models, the positive types in platinum or rhodium-iron while the negative temperature types in Cernox, Cernox HT, Germanium, Carbon-Glass, or Ruthenium oxide. The Cernox sensors can be used from 100 mK to 420K, with magnetic fields up to 30T and are resistant to ionizing radiation.

  LakeShore specializes in thermocouple sensors for use in cryogenic applications. Choices include the chromel-gold/iron thermocouple, which is widely used because of its relatively high thermoelectric sensitivity (>15 mV/K above 10 K); the Chromel-Constantan Type E, which has the highest sensitivity among the three standard thermocouple types and is the best choice for temperatures down to 40 K; and the Chromel-Alumel Type K, that is recommended for continuous use in inert atmospheres, and offers a sensitivity of 4.1 mV/K at 20 K.
