Sensors come in either cylindrical or rectangular types, and can come with special features like chemical resistance and 2 switching points. Response times are all <160 ms.

SICK manufactures several models of ultrasonic sensors, including the UM30-2, UM18, UC4, and UM18. The UM30-2 has short housing and increased measurement performance, with 0.18 mm resolution and 6,000 mm sensing range.
